Cupra Tavascan – A 300 hp all electric SUV concept
Cupra is standing on its own four legs after it did a Polestar to become its own company, and with the Tavascan, Cupra is showing that the company can create completely new cars.
The exterior is as striking as a concept car should be with a highly aggressive design that puts emphasis on the Cupra logo. The dimensions reminds a lot of the BMW X6 event though the design in its entirety is completely different.
The fact that the car is electic has been implemented greatly in the design. Many car brands most often has to create a car that fits bot a combustion and an electric driveline, but here the design has been optimized to be aerodynamic in a way that no combustion engine car can. The 22 inch wheels are. Big. But even these have been optimized. Do I like the exterior, yes. Do I like everything, and if not, what is it? Especially the rear. I understand the design, but it is just not for me. The ride height is too big which goes against the design of the rear. It looks like a girl that has pulled up its skirt.
The interior is certainly “concepty”, but not impossible to put into reality. The white together with the bronze and black is a lovely choice of colors and the simple design, much thanks to the huge middle screen, creates a very special place to be in.
The power will be 302 hp. 0-100 km/h in less than 6,5 seconds. The battery pack is taken from the new Volkswagen I.D 3 and is supposed to have a range of 450 km.
The car is set to be seen in the flesh at the Frankfurt auto show.
