Porsche Macan GTS – The most driver focused Macan yet

The Macan is the smaller and more approachable little brother to the Cayenne. Unfortunately it has in many ways been considered inferior. No v8 and softer looks may be some contributing factors, but Porsche is showing that the Macan should be taken seriously with the new GTS.

The Macan GTS looks exceptionally feisty with red paint and black rims. GTS badging can be found throughout the exterior, which could come in handy since there are not that many design elements that show that this is a sportier model. Sure, lower ride height, black accents and the above mentioned details are cool and all, but the average citizen could not tell the difference.

The inside has been treated with grippy Alcantara, Aluminium brushed inserts and sporty GTS-exclusive seats. There is also sporty red stitching throughout the inside.

The Macan GTS will still have a turbo v6, but the power has been bumped up to 380 hp, and 520 Nm. Good for a 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The transmission is off course, PDK. Sports suspension comes as standard, together with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The ride height is lowered by 15 mm, and by choosing the Adaptive air suspension, it is further decreased by 10 mm. A new exhaust system has been added to give the car a throatier sound.

Porsche says that the GTS is the sportiest Macan yet. However, with only a 20 hp increase in power compared to the Macan S and minor improvements in acceleration and top speed, the major upgrades must be in the driving department. I would have like to see a decrease in weight by adding a carbon fibre roof, or something else.

Starting price for the Macan GTS is 77,880 Euro (810,000 Sek), and is already available for order.
